DJ’s Mississippi Mud Pie

My son, Sam, requested a Mississippi Mud Pie for dessert today.  I hadn’t ever made one before so I searched for a recipe and found a lot of variations from incredibly hard to super simple.   I decided to pick my favorite parts of each recipe to make my own “fairly easy” recipe.  The family says it’s a keeper!

Ingredients:

2 Oreo pre-made pie crusts
Ghirardelli’s Triple Fudge brownie mix
(1/4 cup water, 1/4 cup oil and one egg for mix)
1 package instant chocolate fudge pudding/pie mix
(1 3/4 cup milk for mix)
2 tubs Cool Whip
Miniature marshmallows
Mini chocolate chips
Pecan pieces

Prepare the fudge brownie mix and pour equal amounts into both pie shells. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes or until done. Let cool and then mix chocolate pudding mix and pour equal amounts over brownie pie. Spread with a butter knife. Sprinkle with marshmallows. Cover with Cool Whip and spread with butter knife. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecan pieces over the top. Refrigerate until ready to eat.
